Dr Mandana Ashrafi

I am a board certified adult psychiatrist practicing in New York City. I completed my psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. 

I have received additional training in Psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(Known as DBT), Trauma and Dissociation-focused psychotherapy, Couple and Family Therapy, and completed an Intensive Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Fellowship at The William Alanson White Institute. My focus revolves around mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders as well as trauma. I am also passionate about working with couples and families to enhance their interpersonal relationships and address multi-generational issues.

Drawing from my experience, I have successfully collaborated with immigrant individuals, couples and families, navigating the intricacies of sexual, racial, and cultural identities. I am fluent in both English and Farsi, facilitating effective communication with a diverse range of individuals.
